I like the three part structure and always taught it to my students, who worried that it seemed simplistic until they saw its power!

I can also understand what Sean means; some posts have a poetic ‘take your breath away’ unexpected bit of closure at the end. That’s when I reckon it’s OK just to let it settle in; if you leave openess and silence after those ones, folk feel free to comment on whatever has moved them most.

Thanks Barbara. After watching and discussing several TV shows over the past few weeks I’ve been giving a bit of thought to cliffhangers in writing and where best to use them (outside of fiction writing that is).
