Monthly Book Giveaway – "Why We Buy"

During the first week of each month we give away a business book to a reader of this blog. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post. At the end of the week I’ll use www.random.org to select a comment number and the lucky winner will be announced here. I’ll post the book anywhere in the world, so the giveaway is open to everyone!

This month we’re giving away Paco Underhills’s “Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping–Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond”.

This book is slightly outside the ordinary for these giveaways in that it discusses the psychology behind why people buy rather than being a strictly business ‘how to’ type of book.  If you sell anything (and that’s all of us in business) then you need to read this book.

In my not so humble opinion, everyone needs to read this book.  If you don’t win it, then buy it.  Truly, if you are selling products, particularly physical products, you need to understand why and how people buy.  This book will go a long way to helping you understand more about your customers.

    This sounds really interesting! As a past retailer and a present coach, it’s always interesting to get into finding out more about what makes successful sales – or rather what makes people interested in purchasing, as often they can be different things!
